Day 1: Arrival

Depart for Tbilisi. Pick up from Tbilisi international airport. Hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2: Tbilisi city tour (B/-/D)

Sightseeing and walking tour of Tbilisi, a charming town built in the 5th century along the twisting valley of Mtkvari River. All the places of interest are very close to each other, within a few minutes’ walk. Start the visit from Metekhi(13th century) plateau, before taking the cable car to NarikalaFortress which dominates the skyline of the Old Town. Continue to explore brick-domed underground sulfur baths (17th century) – the district of naturally hot mineral waters, cafe street Shardeni, Synagogue, Sioni Cathedral and the most ancient church in Tbilisi Anchiskhati(6th century). Visit national museum of Georgia that preserves and exhibits a unique collection of natural and human history. One of the most important collections of the museum is the collection of Treasures that contains a big number of unique objects from the second half of the III millennium B.C. through XIX c. A.D. The collection features gold and silver artifacts and jewelry from the pre-Christian period from various regions of the country. Walk along Rustaveli Avenue with souvenir shopping possibility. Hotel accommodation. Dinner at the traditional Georgian restaurant followed with folk show. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 3: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Uplistsikhe – Gori – Ananuri – Gudauri (B/-/D)

After breakfast in the morning head to Mtskheta – an ancient capital of Georgia, important religious centre and city-museum which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Along the way we will stop to visit the Jvari Monastery (6th cen.). This well-known monastery is located on the top of the mountain, at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. Continue to SvetitskhoveliCathedral (11th cen.) which is known as a place where Christ’s robe was buried. Walk along the narrow streets of Mtskhetawith souvenir shopping possibility. Continue our drive along the Silk Road that brings us to the ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe (1st millennium BC) – carved into the rock represents one of the oldest places in the Caucasus, which were founded in the Bronze Age. The caves were the site of pagan rituals, before Georgia became a Christian country. After inspecting the cave city proceed to Gori – the birthplace of the Soviet leader Stalin. Photo-stop at the museum of Stalin and afterwards continue very scenic drive up through the High Caucasus Mountains along the Georgian Military Highway, which is the major route linking Georgia with Russia. On the way visit Ananuri architectural complex (17th cen.) overlooking a reservoir on the Aragvi River. In the evening arrive in Gudauri(2200 m). Hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Gudauri – Sno – Juta – Kazbegi – GergetiTrinity church – Truso Gorge – Tbilisi (B/-/D)

Breakfast in the morning. Start our day by visiting remote villages of Snoand Juta – one of the highest settlements (2200 m) in the municipality of Kazbegi.Afterwards proceed along the Tergi River that brings us to Kazbegi – main town in this region. Drive from Kazbegi through Gergeti village and up to the Gergeti Holy Trinity church (14th century), stunningly located on a hilltop (2170 m.) both overlooking the surrounding snowy peaks of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Here you will enjoy unique nature with beautiful panoramic views of Caucasus, including mount Kazbegi (5047m.). Continue our drive through beautiful Truso Gorge, along the gushing river, passing through remote villages, ancient towers and alpine meadows. Truso Gorge is famous for its rock formations formed by sour spring waters. In the evening, drive back to Tbilisi. Hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Tbilisi – Paravani Lake – Khertvisi – Vardzia – Rabath castle – Bakuriani (B/L/D)

After breakfast, start our drive to Vardzia – the magnificent cave town of the Golden Age. Enroute, we will pass Lake Paravani with its spectacular scenery. Afterwards photo-stop at Khertvisi Fortress (10th century). Delicious lunch with family wine at the local family, in the open air with the food typical of this region. Arrive in Vardzia. The cave complex stretching over half a kilometer once was a hiding place for 50 000 people. It has got a church hewn out in rock with unique 12th century frescos. The complex also includes dwellings quarters, small hall - type churches, refectories, wine cellars, etc. Afterwards drive to Akhaltsikheandvisit synagogue. Next, proceed to Rabath castle. Arrive in Bakuriani. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Bakuriani – Tabatskuri lake – Tsalka – Manglisi – Tbilisi (B/-/D)

Breakfast in the morning. Start our off-road drive tothe spectacular lake of Tabatskuri(1991 m.) and its semi-island village. Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains covered with snow. Drive back to Tbilisi through fascinating forests and stunning meadows. En route photo - stop in Tsalka. Continue our drive to Manglisiandarrive in Tbilisi. Hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 7: Departure (B/-/-)

Breakfast in the morning. Transfer to the Tbilisi International Airport and departure.
